Missouri state and federal officials react to President Trump testing positive for COVID-19

Hours after President Donald Trump and the first lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19, Missouri state and federal elected officials reacted to the news on social media.
One of the president's close aides, Hope Hicks, also tested positive for coronavirus late Thursday.
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson tweeted at 7:36 a.m. wishing the Trumps well.
Parson and his wife, Teresa Parson, tested positive for COVID-19 last week. The governor has been asymptomatic since testing positive.
Parson has continued carrying out his duties from the Governor's Mansion while under isolation.
Missouri's Democratic state auditor and gubernatorial candidate Nicole Galloway tweeted Friday morning wishing the president and first lady a "quick and full recovery from COVID-19."
US Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R - Jefferson City) said Trump has operated as an essential worker throughout the pandemic. Luetkemeyer added the president and the first lady are in excellent care with the White House medical staff.
US Sen. Josh Hawley (R - Missouri) wished the president and first lady a speedy recovery.
State Rep. Sara Walsh (R - Ashland) joined her contemporaries hoping the president and millions others who have tested positive for COVID-19 get well.
It's unclear how Trump's positive test results will affect his presidential campaign about a month away from the Nov. 3 presidential election.
As of Friday, the president has not shifted power to Vice President Mike Pence. Medical staff said they expect Trump to continue performing presidential duties.
