WATCH: Helias president talks about the return to learn

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The principal and president for Helias Catholic High School joined ABC 17 News Tuesday morning to discuss plans for a fall return.

The first full day of school for all students at Helias is scheduled for Aug. 19.

Kenya Fuemmeler, the high school's principal and president, said that classes will be entirely in-person. However, in order to create smaller class sizes to maintain social distancing, there will be eight class periods instead of seven.

Fuemmeler also said teachers will get ten extra days of sick leave specifically designated to COVID-19 absences.
