MU to continue online learning through summer term

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The University of Missouri said Monday remote learning will continue through the 2020 summer term as COVID-19 spreads across the US.

In an email sent out to MU faculty, staff and students, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Latha Ramchand said the university will not hold in-person classes during the summer session.

"I know this decision is disappointing for us all, but we must continue to take actions that are in the best interests of everyone’s safety," Ramchand said.

University of Missouri System leaders announced last month that all in-person classes were canceled for the remainder of the spring semester.

MU officials said last week spring commencement ceremonies were also canceled.
