Parry told ABC 17 News that Boone County is prepared for COVID-19.

Parry posted on Facebook Thursday about "10 things to be optimistic about."

In the post, Parry said the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation released data that showed the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak in Boone County would hit around May 21. He included the state would need at least 2,228 hospital beds and that Missouri hospital facilities currently have almost 8,000 hospital beds.

As of Friday, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services said 74 people have tested positive for COVID-19. At least 30 people in the county have recovered since they tested positive, according to the Boone County health department.
