A jury trial is set to begin Tuesday for the man charged in connection with a shooting outside a Buffalo Wild Wings in Columbia in 2024.

Jury selection is to begin at 9 a.m. at the Boone County Courthouse ahead of the trial, which is expected to last for three days.

Alexis Gonzales, 38, of Orlando, Florida, was charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon after he was accused of shooting another man in the face on Aug. 18, 2024.

According to court documents, Gonzalez is accused of shooting another patron at Buffalo Wild Wings after a server refused him alcohol because he was too drunk. Gonzalez allegedly left the restaurant without paying. Another patron followed Gonzalez and his girlfriend out the door while recording on a cellphone, the statement says.

Gonzalez can be seen on security video going back into the restaurant and shooting a man, documents say.

Police said the man suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital.

Gonzales will be meeting in front of Judge Stephanie Morrell at 8:15 a.m. for a final pre-trial hearing ahead of trial.
