25 Columbia snow plow drivers to start shift at 7 p.m.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Crews will be working overnight to treat roads in Columbia for the impending snow.

The City of Columbia wrote in a press release that 25 snowplow operators will start its overnight shift at 7 p.m. Another 25-person crew will take over at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Multiple inches of snow are expected throughout the region, prompting the ABC 17 News Stormtrack Weather Team to issue a Weather Alert Day for Tuesday. Roughly 2-5 inches is expected in Columbia, with potential totals increasing in the southern portion of our viewing area.

The release from the city says that an 18-person crew began work at 5 a.m. Monday and crews have been plowing priority routes throughout the day. Some snow accumulated on streets on Monday.
