Police say 8 vehicles involved, 3 injured in Wednesday night crash on I-70

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Columbia Police Department now says that eight vehicles were involved in a crash Wednesday night on Interstate 70 that sent two people to the hospital.
CPD wrote in a Thursday evening press release that three people were injured in the crash, though only two needed treatment at a hospital for minor injuries. The other person was treated at the scene.
The crash near Range Line Street caused a closure to the Stadium Boulevard exit that lasted nearly three hours.
CPD says the crash occurred in the eastbound lane when a tractor-trailer hit another semi truck that was slowing for traffic congestion. The first tractor-trailer hit the median and eventually hit six other vehicles, the release says.
