COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

First responders in Boone County will hold an active shooter training session at The Crossing on Monday, according to a Friday press release from the Columbia Police Department.

The press release states that the training will take place in the morning, but did not give a time. The release says emergency vehicles and first responders will be at the church and education center.

"This is a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary training exercise that will allow police, fire and all emergency services to rehearse coordination, communication and rescue of survivors," Columbia Police Department Training Coordinator Michael Hestir said in the release.
