COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No injuries were reported in a Sunday morning fire at Noodles and Company in the 400 block of Ninth Street in downtown Columbia, according to a Monday press release from the Columbia Fire Department.

Fire marshals are investigating the cause and origin of the fire, the release states. Estimate damage costs weren’t available. Crews responded to the fire at 7:03 a.m. Sunday.

Crews started extinguishing the fire on the outside of the building before discovering the inside was also on fire, which was brought under control within 25 minutes, the release says. The report states that firefighters saw cracking in the walls and ordered for the building to be inspected

The release says there were 12 Columbia fire crews that include 25 personnel. Crews stayed on the scene for several hours to make sure there were no “areas of hidden fire remaining,” the release states.

Noodles and Company posted a statement on its front door stating that its downtown location is temporarily closed.
