Parking meters in Columbia to have new hours beginning March 18

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

On-street parking meters in downtown Columbia will be getting new hours.

The City of Columbia announced in a Wednesday press release that all on-street parking spaces will have new enforcement times of 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The new times begin Monday, March 18. The changes were made to the city code in February, the release states.

Currently, metered parking runs from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

The release states changes in parking enforcement are coming to “streamline and simplify” parking procedures. The new times match the Monday through Friday enforcement times of parking garages in Columbia.

On-street metered parking spaces will remain free every Sunday, while parking garages will still be free on Saturdays and Sundays.
