Woman killed in Friday night crash on Business Loop 70

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 32-year-old woman was killed in a crash on Business Loop 70 on Friday night, according to the Columbia Police Department.

The crash happened near Hathman Place around 7 p.m.

According to a press release, an SUV was slowing to turn from eastbound Business Loop 70 onto Hathman Place. A motorcycle behind the SUV also slowed. Police said a truck did not slow down and crashed into the back of the motorcycle forcing it into the SUV.

Investigators said two people were thrown from the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The passenger on the motorcycle, Christina Mayfield, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said no people from the other vehicles were injured. Police did not release the names of the drivers involved.
