No one injured after police called to unstable Columbia fire scene

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An apartment was damaged but no one was hurt when police were called in to help firefighters at a north Columbia scene Friday morning.

Officers were called to help firefighters at the scene after an unstable woman had a breakdown and started destroying her apartment in the area of Doris Drive and Texas Avenue in north Columbia, police at the scene said. No other apartments were damaged.

The woman was throwing things at firefighters when they arrived. Officers took her to a hospital for mental health treatment.

More than a half-dozen police and sheriff's cruisers were at the scene along with firetrucks.
