Shangri-La, employees file objections

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia dispensary and workers filed objections to an election to the National Labor Relations Board on Wednesday.

This continues the ongoing disagreements with Shangri-La Dispensary and workers. A number of current and former workers at the dispensary began picketing in May. A number of former employees said at the time that they were let go after the company learned they wanted to unionize.

Workers at the Shangri-La South marijuana dispensary in Columbia voted earlier this month in favor of forming a union with the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 655.

The union voters prevailed 6-5, with 16 votes challenged. The National Labor Relations Board will determine what to do with those ballots.
