COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

More than 1,600 Columbia Water and Light customers in southwest Columbia were without electricity temporarily early Friday afternoon, the utility reported.

The Water and Light outage map showed the outage was connected to one incident along South Providence Road. The utility warned customers at about noon about the outage and said crews are responding.

Power was restored to all customers by about 2 p.m., the utility said.

A Water and Light spokesman said a tree hit a power line, causing the outage.
