Sixth annual Molly’s Miles set to begin Saturday morning

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The sixth annual Molly's Miles is set to resume its in person 5k and 10k, after 1,110 days since the last in person event.

Bryana Larimer, Vice President of Molly's Miles said, "To say we're excited would be an understatement," when talking about the event returning this year.

Over 900 participants are set to run in Saturday's race, with organizers reminding those who cannot be in attendance that they can participate remotely in the virtual run.

Those looking to participate may still sign up, as registration is still open on the organization's website.

The event, set to take place at Molly Bowden Memorial Park at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, is to remember the fallen law enforcement officers and honor the survivors.

The event, is named in honor of Columbia police Officer Molly Bowden, who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2005.

All proceeds of Saturday's races go towards the Missouri Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors, who work to rebuild the lives of survivors of fallen law enforcement officers.

According to organizers, the event has raided over $150,000 for the group over the last five years.
