Columbia power outage darkens traffic lights, affects more than 1,000 customers

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A power outage that took out traffic signals at major intersections is also affecting more than 1,000 customers in the area of Stadium Boulevard and Providence Road.

Boone County emergency dispatchers said the outage was affecting lights along Providence from Elm Street to Mick Deaver Driver, near the University of Missouri campus. The Columbia Water and Light outage map showed 1,073 customers affected by the outage at about 3 p.m. Power was restored to most by about 4:30 p.m.

Details on the cause were not immediately available.
