Power restored to most Columbia Water and Light customers
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
12:40 p.m. Update:
The Columbia Water and Light Department reported Wednesday afternoon that power has been restored to most of its customers.
More than 190 customers were still without power, according to the department's outage website. That's down from the more than 2,100 customers reported earlier on Wednesday.

Around 11:19 a.m., a tree fell on some power lines causing the outage. We appreciate everyone's patience.

More than 2,100 Columbia Water and Light customers in west Columbia were without power at about noon Wednesday.
Water and Light posted a message about the outage on Twitter. The utility said at about noon that a crew had been assigned to fix the problem.
The utility's outage map appeared to show the problem affecting 2,143 customers along Scott Boulevard between Smith Drive and Chapel Hill Road. Information about the cause of the outage was not immediately available.
