Columbia residents help Texas truck driver stuck in the snow
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Earlier today, ABC 17 News Crews came across Marcus Gray, a trucker from Texas driving a shipment from Georgia to Columbia.
But, when he got here and the snow was coming down, Gray got stuck in the snow.
Fortunately, he was able to get it out of the snow with the help of some friendly neighbors.
"I had to dig out, I got help from some guys from the local community, pretty awesome people here. And uh I spent the night basically street-side in the residential area in the back of my uh truck," says Gray.
Gray was able to get out with the help of some kind of Columbia residents, like Nathan Almquist.
"Slowly but surely everybody, everybody with a good heart stopped, and we all come together and got him out," says Almquist.
Driving these roads, especially if you're unfamiliar with snow and ice, is tough and officials do ask if you don't have to be on the roads stay home.
