Columbia police release name of man subdued after charging officers with knife

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police have identified the man that falsely claimed to have killed his child and then charged officers with a knife at a mobile home park Monday afternoon.

At least six Columbia Police Department cruisers were sent to Colonial Village after Raul Bravo, 29, told dispatchers he had killed his 3-year-old child. Police later found the child safe with a family member.

The man charged at officers with a knife and was subdued with a stun gun and taken to a hospital, police said.

Bravo was taken into custody for first degree assault on law enforcement.

No injuries were reported.
