COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

More than a dozen Columbia police and Boone County Sheriff's Department vehicles responded to an apartment complex in east Columbia Thursday afternoon.

One officer said one person was in custody related to the large police presence. It's unclear why police were called to the apartment complex as of Thursday.

An ABC 17 News crew said about 20 law enforcement vehicles were seen around the area of the Villa Capri Apartments just before 4 p.m.

ABC 17 reached out to the police department about the incident, officers did not immediately respond.
