University of Missouri police arrest man with a knife early Thursday
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Officers arrested a Columbia man early Thursday morning on suspicion of multiple crimes after a University of Missouri alert said he had a knife.
The alert said 34-year-old Nicholas Walters was seen near the intersection of College Avenue and Anthony Street.
Officers with the University of Missouri and Columbia police departments arrested Walters 23 minutes later at the intersection of Ripley and Pratt streets, the announcement said.
MUPD said Walters was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon, fourth-degree assault, resisting arrest and trespassing.
Walters was charged with trespassing on MU's campus earlier this year. His probable cause statement said he broke into the Memorial Union and damaged a truck trying to make a delivery at the Missouri Orthopedic Institute.
