COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police said a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash Monday on Interstate 70.

Russell Coonley, 58, of Crestwood, Kentucky, was taken by ambulance to University of Missouri Hospital after the crash at about 10:30 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 70 near the 131 mile marker, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

Police say Coonley was thrown from his Ducati motorcycle after rear-ending a Toyota Tacoma driven by Sebastian Lopetz, 24, of Melbourne Beach, Florida. Lopetz was not hurt.

Information about Coonley's condition was not available Monday afternoon.

Police say they don't suspect alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.
