Bad wiring leads to house fire in central Columbia
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Faulty wiring caused a fire at a central Columbia home Tuesday, fire officials said.
Firefighters were sent to 903 Jefferson St. at 12:43 p.m. and found smoke coming from the roof of a house, the Columbia Fire Department said in a news release. They found a small fire in the attic above the living room and brought it under control in about 15 minutes, the department said.
A fire marshal determined the cause was faulty wiring in the attic above the living room. The department said the fire caused about $10,000 in damage.
No one was injured.
