Fast Yeti Tees in Columbia changed its branding to Fast Yowi Tees after the company was sued by Yeti Coolers over the name of the T-shirt company.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia T-shirt company Fast Yeti Tees announced on Tuesday the business is changing its name to settle a lawsuit with a cooler company.

According to release from the business, Fast Yeti Tees is rebranding to Fast Yowi Tees. The release from business owner Reid Lyle shows Yeti Coolers sued the Columbia company over using the name "Yeti."

Lyle said he decided to change the name of his company to avoid a court battle.

"After a careful assessment, we determined that we do not wish to allocate the time, energy, and resources required for an uncertain legal proceeding, and decided to settle instead," Lyle said.

The company changed its sign on Jan. 31. Fast Yeti Tees was sued in July, 2019.

The release shows a Yowi is a bigfoot-like creature from Australian folklore.
