COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A vehicle crashed into power lines on Chapel Hill Road between Scott Boulevard and Fairview Road on Friday, taking out power to some Columbia Water and Light customers.

The crash happened at about 11 a.m. Chapel Hill was closed between Fairview Road and Rainwood Place, according to a joint communications notification. The road reopened at about 12:20 p.m. The Columbia Water and Light outage map showed about 30 customers without power along Chapel Hill near Talent Drive.

The city in a tweet posted that the power outage was caused by a vehicle hitting power poles. A crew had been sent to the scene but other information was not immediately available.
