Columbia armed robbery suspects charged in Boone County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County prosecutors charged two people suspected of an armed robbery at a Columbia Steak 'n Shake.

Columbia police tweeted Saturday that Timothy Smith and Brittni Smith were arrested in Illinois suspected of the robbery on Dec. 15. Each faces a charge of first-degree robbery.

No court dates are scheduled in either case, according to online court records. The suspects are currently being held in the White County Illinois Jail. They are also suspected of multiple similar robberies in the Midwest.
