Cole County Commission approves EMS pay raise

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Cole County Commission unanimously approved a new salary and staffing schedule to raise pay for emergency medical services workers Tuesday.

The change is meant to raise the pay scale to a more competitive rate. Starting salary for dispatchers will begin at $37,500. Salaries for EMTS will start at $40,000 and paramedics at $58,000.

The measure will also create a raise for all employees for each of the next seven years.

Cole County EMS Chief Eric Hoy said the change will put Cole County in the upper end of the salary range for Mid-Missouri.
