Cole County man arrested after rash of property thefts
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Cole County Sheriff's Department report one person is arrested after a string of property thefts from vehilces between August and October that includes several firearms being stolen.
Information from a probable cause statement reveals that a vehicle was seen from a home security system and the department figured out who it belonged to.
According to the PC statement, the sheriff's department attempted to stop the vehicle on Oct. 29 and a chase ensued. A deputy reports the chase was called off due to the suspect "creating a substantial risk to bystanders."
After figuring out who the owner of the vehicle was, the department visited the residence and talked to the vehilce owner's boyfriend Ke'Andre Ruffin according to the PC statement.
On last Wednesday, Ruffin talked with deputies and admitted to stealing a gun and other thefts according to court documents.
Ruffin is charged with stealing a firearm, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and tampering with a motor vehicle according to court documents.
Ruffin is in the Cole County Jail and no bond was issued to him.
Ruffin's next court day is Nov. 16.
