COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Cole County man was taken to University of Missouri Hospital by helicopter Tuesday after a van drove into the path of his utility vehicle.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Nicholas Fry, 20, of Henley, was driving his Kawasaki Mule UTV at about 2 p.m. on Brown Road near Brazito. A van driven by Joseph McClendon, 32, of Rolla, made a left turn into Fry's path, the patrol said.

Fry suffered serious injuries and was flown to Columbia. McClendon was not hurt, according to the report.
