One of five sentenced in Jefferson City sporting goods store theft
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A woman charged with stealing $750 or more from a Jefferson City Dick's Sporting Goods store was sentenced to community service Tuesday.
Erneisha Dorema, 18, pleaded guilty Tuesday after she was charged on March 31. The judge sentenced Dorema to five years supervised probation and 50 hours of community service.
Jefferson City police said Dorema was one of five people who were arrested in the case. In a release, police alleged officers were called to the Dick's at 739 Stoneridge Parkway after the group stole merchandise.
Officers tried to pull over the group on Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City. According to police, the car continued north. Missouri highway patrol troopers stopped the vehicle with a tire deflation device on Highway 63 in Boone County.
Authorities said people inside the car threw merchandise out of the car before they were arrested. According to police, more than $3,000 worth of merchandise was stolen.
