Multiple Camden County fire departments respond to fire

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Multiple fire departments in Camden County responded to a fire near North Highway 7 on Tuesday, according to social media posts from the Osage Beach Fire Protection District and Camden County Emergency Management Agency.

Both fire departments said they were assisting the Northwest Fire District. The Osage Beach Fire Protection District wrote that Station 2 firefighters responded at 2:30 p.m. and was assigned to building protection after five hours on the scene.

"At approximately 2:30 this afternoon station 2 was dispatched to assist Northwest fire district on a natural cover fire. After 5 hours of operating the company returned to Osage Beach. The crew was assigned to structure protection and back burning the help contain the fire," the Osage Beach Fire Protection District wrote. “It is unclear just how much in total burned but departments across multiple counties responded to assist during this incident."

Camden County EMA later wrote that the fire was under control by 8 p.m.

A cause of the fire was not listed in either social media post.
