Woman struck by boat propeller at Lake of the Ozarks

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Nebraska woman is recovering after she was struck by a boat propeller at the Lake of the Ozarks on Friday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Payton Newlin, 26, was jumping off of a boat when she was struck. Troopers said it happened near the 21.2 mile mark in Miller Hollow Cove in Camden County.

According to an incident report, a helicopter flew Newlin to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries. A spokesman with MU Health Care said Newlin is in good condition as of Saturday night.
