MSHP completes investigation into I-70 Callaway County deputy-involved shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s investigation into a shooting on Interstate 70 that resulted in two Callaway County deputies getting shot has been completed, according to an email from Drug and Crime Control Sgt. Brad Germann.

Germann wrote on Wednesday that the case file has been delivered to the Boone County prosecutor for review.

Cpl. Justin Bax and Deputy Gardner Pottorff were shot on Oct. 14 during an exchange of gunfire with a Texas man, previous reporting indicates

Jonathan Beason, was killed during an exchange of gunfire, according to an Oct. 14 press release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Beason had multiple felony warrants, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office previously said.

Pottorff was released from University Hospital on Oct. 29. Bax was released just two days after the shooting.
