Callaway County deputies searched a home near North Callaway Middle School for drugs, according to a social media post from the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Chestnut Street, which is across the street from the middle school.

“To ensure the safety and minimize disruption to the community, deputies waited until after school dismissal and the departure of buses before initiating the search warrant,” the post reads. “The North Callaway School Resource Officer was also present at the school during the operation, ensuring that any remaining students were kept inside for their safety.”

Deputies reportedly found 16 grams of methamphetamine and a gun that was stolen from the St. Louis area, the post says.
