An Audrain County man charged with statutory rape in July was arrested and booked into the Callaway County Jail on Monday.

Jaylen Scott Fendrick, 19, of Laddonia, was charged with first-degree statutory rape and furnishing pornographic material to a minor. He is being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond. An initial court appearance is set for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Callaway County Courthouse.

On Feb. 25, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office received information about a possible sexual assault, according to the probable case statement.

The victim allegedly told deputies that they met Fendrick through a mutual friend and they communicated through the social media application Snapchat. They allegedly said Fendrick was aware of the age difference.

The victim allegedly told deputies they “dated” Fendrick from September 2022 through February 2023 and that they “broke up” due to the investigation. The victim stated explicit photographs were exchanged between the two and that the two had intercourse on multiple occasions, according to the probable cause statement.

The statement says Fendrick has continued to have contact with the victim.
