CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Callaway County prosecutor has charged an Elseberry man after he attempted to disarm a Callaway County deputy on Sunday morning.

Deputies were called to the site of a rollover crash on Highway 54 near Route J just after 9:30 a.m.

Once on scene, deputies say they found 46-year-old Jeremy Blok trying to cross traffic and nearly got hit by oncoming traffic.

According to the sheriff's office, the deputy attempted to talk with Blok but Blok began wrestling with the deputy on the ground alongside Highway 54.

Then two passing motorists stopped to offer the deputy assistance.

Blok is facing resisting arrest and attempting to disarm a peace officer.

At last check, a court date has not been set.

Blok is being held without bond at the Callaway County Jail.
