MU Health Care to build Boonville clinic

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

MU Health Care has signed a long-term lease needed to open a multi-specialty clinic in Boonville, the organization said Friday.

The clinic will be 14,000 square feet and will include urgent care with extended hours, primary care, specialty services, imaging, a lab and physical therapy, according to a news release. MU Health expects to open the clinic in early 2022 on Jackson Road near Main Street, across from Walmart.

MU Health said the announcement follows "months of collaboration with a number of groups in Cooper County." The feedback from those groups helped MU Health determine what services to offer, according to the release.

“MU Health Care’s investment in Cooper County is welcome news for our community,” Gigi Quinlan McAreavy, director of economic development for Boonville and Cooper County, said in the release. “There is a great need for additional health care services in our county, and this new multi-specialty clinic is a big step forward in the effort to address those needs.”

MU Health opened a family medicine clinic six months ago in Boonville. The clinic is staffed by two family doctors who worked at Pinnacle Regional Hospital, which closed last year.
