According to the crash report release by Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by a man, 55, from Moberly was traveling northbound on U.S. 63 when he crossed the median. The Moberly man then hit a vehicle driven by a man, 32, from Centralia head-on. The man from Moberly was taken to University Hospital where we later died. The man from Centralia was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote on social media that troopers were investigating a "serious injury crash" on southbound 63, north of Highway 124. Troopers encouraged drivers to use alternate routes.

"Initial reports indicated that one vehicle crossed the median, striking a southbound vehicle head-on near Pinnacles and Highway 63," a social media post from the Boone County Fire Protection District says.

"Tragically, one driver was pronounced deceased, while the other was extricated from their vehicle and transported by Boone Ambulance to University Hospital with serious injuries. Despite medical efforts, the second driver succumbed to their injuries at the hospital."

Second crash
