Shed, cars destroyed in Boone County fire

CENTRALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An out-of-control rubbish fire destroyed a shed and two cars at a northern Boone County home Wednesday morning.

Boone County Fire Protection District firefighters were sent to the home on East Walnut Drive between Centralia and Hallsville a little before noon, Assistant Fire Chief Gale Blomenkamp said. The shed was fully engulfed in flame when they arrived and the roof was collapsing onto the two cars inside, he said.

Firefighters poured water on the nearby home to keep it from catching fire.

Blomenkamp said the blaze appeared to have started with an out-of-control trash fire.
