Boone County awarded $536,000 by DNR to connect some residences to wastewater treatment facility

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded $535,986 in financial assistance to the Boone County Commission to connect Bolli Road residences to the Midway Crossing wastewater treatment facility, according to a Wednesday press release from the DNR.

The release says the funding is expected to cover the full cost of the project, which is set to be completed in March. Funding consists of a $326,000 loan and a $209,986 grant through the department’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund, the release says.

Individual grinder pumps will be installed at each property, which will discharge waste into the county sewer district's collection system for treatment at the Midway Crossing facility, the release says.

The project is expected to eliminate failing private septic systems and extend the wastewater system’s life and efficiency, according to the release.
