Katy Trail closure postponed

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE: The work has been postponed to an undetermined date.

ORIGINAL: A section of the Katy Trail near the Rocheport Bridge will be closed Thursday, according to a Friday press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

About a 1½ miles of the trail will be closed from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. The release states that construction vehicles will be utilizing the Katy Trail do finish concrete work. Workers will be pouring a bridge column, which part of the overall construction of the eastbound bridge, the statement says.

Signs indicating the closure will be posted. Traffic on Interstate-70 will not be affected.

The Rocheport Bridge project is expected to be completed by Dec. 31.
