Flue fire damages Boone County home on Thanksgiving morning
BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A flue fire damaged the ceiling and attic of a home in southern Boone County on Thanksgiving morning.
Southern Boone Fire Protection District firefighters were sent to the home on East Forsee Road near Ashland at about 4 a.m. and were at the scene for about an hour.
Deputy Chief Colin Wright said the fire started in the flue and went into the attic. Firefighters pulled charred insulation and burnt debris from the home, he said.
Wright said there is now a hole in the ceiling but it does not go through to the roof. No injuries were reported and the family was able to get back into the home after firefighters finished their work.
