Boone County Fire Protection District: Two Task Force 1 members being sent to Vermont
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Boone County Fire Protection District announced on its social media Monday night that two members of Missouri Task Force 1 are headed to Vermont to give assistance after recent flooding in the region.
“According to the Vermont State Police, serious, life-threatening flooding is occurring today across much of Vermont,” the Boone County Fire Protection District wrote on Facebook. “Dangerous, catastrophic flooding is occurring across Vermont and other states in the northeast United States. After receiving upwards of 7 to 8 inches of rain already, the area could see another 3 to 4 inches over the next 24 hours. Emergency crews have conducted rescues in multiple communities. Flash flood warnings are in effect from the Massachusetts line to the Canadian border.”
Both members Task Force 1 are assigned to White River Junction, Vermont, along with response teams from other states.
Last year, Missouri Task Force 1 was sent to aid with flooding in August in Kentucky, and with storm relief in October after Hurricane Ian hit Florida.
