Missouri Task Force 1 deployed to Kentucky to help after historic flooding

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri Task Force 1 headed to Kentucky Saturday evening to help with historical flooding aftermath that happened in the eastern part of the state, that killed at least 25 people.

A division of the Boone County Fire Protection District was deployed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

A team of 45 crew members were deployed with supplies and equipment, including boats.

The crew will carry out significant water rescue capabilities, along with wide area searches, targeted searches and welfare checks.

The task force has joined Ohio Task Force 1, Indiana Task Force 1 and Tennessee Task Force 1, who has been down in Kentucky assisting.

The crew is prepared for a two week deployment if it is needed.
