Name of Sturgeon man killed in lawn tractor crash released

STURGEON, Mo. (KMIZ)

The name of a Sturgeon, Missouri man killed on Tuesday afternoon in a lawn tractor accident has been released.

Gerald "Dean" Connolly, 79, was found in a creek near the 200 block of Ruby Street in Sturgeon around 1:45 p.m., according to the Boone County Fire Protection District.

Investigators determined the lawn tractor Connolly was using slipped off the bank and flipped over into the creek. Firefighters said witnesses performed CPR on Connolly until emergency crews arrived.

Crews tried to provide aid to Connolly but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office, Hallsville Police Department and Boone Hospital Ambulance helped respond to the accident.
