Lightning to blame for Boone County power outage

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Boone Electric Cooperative said a lightning strike was to blame for a Tuesday morning power outage that affected at least 850 customers.
According to Boone Electric Cooperative's outage map, 220 members were without power as of 9:43 a.m. The outage was in the area of Scott Boulevard and West Gillespie Bridge Road.

An electric cooperative spokeswoman said two crews responded to the scene and found damage related to a lightning strike. She included lightning was spotted in the area at the time of the outage.
The electric cooperative was not able to say when power would come back.
