Deputies arrest man suspected of child molestation

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested a Columbia man Thursday in connection with a child abuse investigation.

According to a news release, deputies arrested Scott Darby, 42, on suspicion of three counts of child molestation.

Deputies said the investigation began after the Missouri Children's Division received separate allegations from the Abuse and Neglect Hotline.

Authorities say the three victims were younger than 14 years old.

As of Friday night, Darby was in the Boone County Jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond.

Online court records show prosecutors charged Darby on Friday with a county of first-degree child molestation and two counts of second-degree child molestation.
