MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Prosecutors in Kim Potter’s manslaughter trial in the shooting death of Daunte Wright are drawing on testimony from her former colleagues to portray an officer whose intended use of a Taser would have violated department policy despite extensive training. Under cross-examination by defense on Wednesday, a Brooklyn Center use-of-force and Taser instructor testified that deadly force can be used by an officer to stop someone who is fleeing. Defense attorneys argue that Potter was justified in shooting Wright even if she meant to use her Taser instead. Prosecutors say was experienced and trained to know better.
