Taiwan shaken by 6.5-magnitude quake, no injuries reported

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — Taiwan’s northeast has been shaken by a 6.5-magnitude earthquake, causing buildings in the capital, Taipei, to sway. No injuries have been reported. The government says the quake was centered near Yilan, a city on the northeastern coast. It was followed seconds later by a 5.4-magnitude quake. The Taipei subway system temporarily suspended service. No damage has been immediately reported.
