Former Quinnipiac basketball player arrested in Connecticut

KMIZ

HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — Police in Connecticut have charged former Quinnipiac University basketball player Dezmond “Dezi” Jones in connection with what appears to be a domestic violence incident involving a female student at the school who also was arrested. Hamden police charged Jones with misdemeanor strangulation/suffocation and disorderly conduct on Tuesday. They also charged Ava Librizzi with disorderly conduct. Neither Jones nor Librizzi immediately responded to requests for comment Thursday. Jones is from Hannibal, Missouri, and recently announced he was transferring to Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. Quinnipiac and Austin Peay declined to comment on Jones’ arrest. Quinnipiac says it has a policy that ensures a “thorough review of all allegations.”
